Very nice, but straight axles don't belong in Catalina's. It's fine just the way it is. Slap a windshield in it and call it finished!
And some mag wheels for the front possibly. my dream is to have a cross ram intake for this car ive wanted one probably since i was 16
I'm an old guy and loved the S/S's back in the early '60s so I like the stance.......but.....I don't like the red wheels and please lose the red headlights But it ain't my car so you can do what you want
red forward facing lights are illegal on non-emergency vehicles. I got pulled over for that in illinois back in '99. i showed the cop there were no bulbs in it and he let me slide.
personally i like this thing as it is theres certain things i would have done differently. but its not my car. i dont think she'd look as good with an axle but if you wanna do one they arent hard to do. i had one under my 53 poncho g***er and it drove and handled great..
THAT THING RULES!!!! one of the coolest things Ive seen in a while...screw the haters, anyone that doesnt love this is not a true car guy. PERIOD..........oh and to the OP...rad car too, love it.
Not that old of a guy and was not there when they were new but, do agree with the changes you suggest. The red lights make it look kinda like a cop car. A pair of Radirs on the front would be ideal. There is another company now making a wheel looking like that- for half the price. A set of spoke or slot mags would look great on the front too. '61 and '62 Pontiacs are a**** my favorite cars of all time. Also have a 62 coupe collecting parts to build one day but, it has to wait its turn. Also, nice a see a few other vintage Pontiacs in the background. I am sure we would get along.
Everyone has their own opinion and , there is a mixture of theme on this build but, hey, it is a cool project, it is a Pontiac and most important, it is Pontiac powered. I have seen this car going together as it is local and can tell you all- It is an impressive build for sure! It will be wild seeing it cruising down the roads here in the Phoenix area. Keep up the good work Mark.
yeah I like it, its about going FAST with twin turbo's. You can build some serious power (which is the whole point behind hot rodding...more power) hope to see more of it on the hamb, I like that it has a straight axle too. pisses off the purists which is always fun too.
Thank you for the encouragement and nice words guys and Steve. I love the horizontal headlight cars for the g***er look like the '60 - '62's. This '62 of the OP's is great. Any of the early wide track Pontiacs make great looking hot cars. This is just a teaser on my twin turbo mock up. This should drive the haters crazy. Mark L
Round up a set of the Poncho 8 bolt wheels and drums..... and, Roush is making a dic brake version of those ! Wish they'd done that 40 years ago...... 4TTRUK
