    Picked up the july issue because the cover says "easy to make wire buck" and I am interested in metal shaping. Went through it several times page by page and there is no mention of a buck to be found. Am I missing something?

    Overlooking the first two responses (post #2 -just silly-your opinion of the magazine doesn't address the question;post 3-maybe true, but also doesn't answer the question, therefore not any help), you are correct-my issue of SR has the same cover and the same lack of article.

    I would suggest going to the source-write to Brian Brennan,editor in chief, at brian.brennan@sorc.com. Politely inform him of the issue, state your disappointment, ask for a free copy of the issue which will contain the article you want, mention how you posted your initial disappointment here on the HAMB and how delighted you will be to re-post how quickly and efficiently they addressed your concerns. Then, follow through.

    That would be a long way from the first mistake on a cover of a car magazine. Best guess is that the cover was finished some time before the final cut on the articles inside was made. I quit buying one magazine because the vehicle on the cover was never inside the magazine.

    I wouldn't mention the HAMB to anyone at Sheet Rodder,
    The Janet's don't take kindly to anything traditional
    or to the HAMB in particular.
    In fact, if it wasn't manufactured between 1955 and 1957
    using original belly ****on parts, it just won't rate very well in
    Sheet Rodders monthly "top ten" cars article.

    I can actual remember HRM actually CORRECTING a cover mistake in the article within the same magazine, early 1950's...
    They called a '32 truck a '34, or vice-versa, on the cover, and were able to point out and correct within the issue because the color cover was on a different printer deadline than the inside of the mag...

    I suspect that with something actually missing, it'll turn up with an apology in the next issue. The NON-TECH cocerns me more than the missing bits...
    I remember buying a Streetrodder whose cover announce approximately "Build an A-V8 Ch***is!!"
    The article turned out to be pretty easy to summarize..."Give S0-Cal your credit card number and they'll mail you this nice '32 ch***is already cut for a Model A"
    Sheesh, why didn't they just put that on the cover?

    I have seen that happen. I recently was going through some old magazines and on the cover it had some headline about how to do something, but nothing more in the index or in the magazine itself. It was as if they just forgot to put the article in there or forgot to take it off the cover before printing time. I guess things like that can happen as they have deadlines for getting covers to the printer and things might change before the insides of the magazine are done.

    It is confusing though as you keep looking through the pages wondering where it is.

    I know the thread was closed on this;

    Picked up the july issue because the cover says "easy to make wire buck" and I am interested in metal shaping. Went through it several times page by page and there is no mention of a buck to be found. Am I missing something?

    But here is the answer;

    The story was moved to September. We already had cover done. One of those oops that happens from time to time.

    Sincerely,
    Brian Brennan

    Feel free to close this one too, just wanted to set the record straight
