Event Coverage Anyone heading to the Wisconsin Dells Automotion festival???

Any H.A.M.B. attending the Dells Automotion show MAY 19-20 ? For those of you that have never been to this event its a great time to visit the Dells before the tourist season gets into full swing. The Automotion is a large spring show located at the Noahs Ark water park in Wis Dells.It includes a swap meet area and a car a corral. The cruising at night on the strip is really something to witness and the whole city becomes a moving car show at night..This will be our 4th year vending at the Dells and really consider it our spring kick-off ..If you attend the automotion stop by the Kellys Hot Rod parts tent and say Hey!!!!!

Ill be there on saturday. I live 5 minutes away. Supposed to be beautiful on Saturday with highs in the mid 80's and sunny. Sunday, cloudy and mid 70's, small chance of rain. There are usually around 1000 cars there, plenty to eat and lots of shade.

Edge of the Dells bar and campground hosts a burnout contest saturday night for the last few years. they draw quite a crowd. You can search youtube for "automotion" and see what its about. The Edge starting putting this on because the Dells police were cracking down on the cruising, burnouts, unnecessary displays of power and overall fun hotrod type activities. There used to be thousands of spectators lining both sides of the strip to watch the hotrod activities, and they would cheer from hotel balconies, sidewalks, amu*****t park parking lots, anywahere they could. After the city upped the patrol to officers to comb the strip back and forth and they starting writing fines for everything, cars stopped cruising, the spectators stopped lining the streets and the atmosphere was lost. Disappointing to say the least. It was really fun to cruise 10 years ago.

 

We are heading out tomorrow at 8 am look for the Kellys Hot Rod parts trailer and Red tent when walking the grounds!!!

 

Thinkin' about it. Depends how work goes. If I'm not too tired I'll be there Saturday with the Model A. As long as people don't mind a few extra wires running from my distributor, kinda cobbeled together right now. I had an issue at Torque Fest, but it runs!

We will be set up there again this year look for our red tents!!

 

i will be there. there is also the big sky drive in. me and some friends will be going there on sat night.

 

I'm in the dells at the wilderness right now, leaving Friday. Short vacation, wish I could stick around for the show.

 

Kalahari resort, my favorite stop when driving cross country, believe it or not I'm the only guest who wears a speedo, I'm very popular at the wet bar

On our way out I saw a '62 galaxie with polished Americans on it. Somebody needs to get pics of it.

 

I wasn't going to go but I think there will be a decent HAMB turnout so I'm in. I've got the Roadster all ready and am leaving my house about 7:30 Sat morning. I'm an hour and change away so I'll see ya for coffee around 9 or 9:30, Kelly's buying.
