whos got some? im trying to identify a truck. the guy said it was a 54 but it has a v **** windsheild all the others ive found do not.
The "advance design" trucks, late 47'-53 had 2 piece windshields with a division bar in the center. There were small differences but the trucks all looked the same through 1953. The 54's and first edition 55's have a one piece curved gl*** windshield and the top of the bedsides is flat. The curved corner gl*** was an option in all years, I think. I'm not sure if the corner gl*** was available in 47. Sam
I forgot to mention that the 54 and early 55 trucks have a different grille. These grilles have a nose or horn in a center bar and not all the individual bars as in the other years The dash is different as well. GMC's had different grilles than Chev. all years. Sam
Curved corner gl*** was an option in all years. Split windshield was '47 to '53 in all left drive models. Right hand drive models had the split windshield in '54 and '55 (1st series) also. Lots of little things changed over the years. Can you post pictures of the doors, door gl***, firewall, bed, suspension? I ***ume you don't have a serial number otherwise that would identify the year.
