California YOM Program Question

    Ok guys, an update. Exactly 1 month and 1 day after my original submittal, I was approved!

    ok,this maybe a dumb question,but i have the original plates for my car and they are on my ***le..will the dmv make me get new plates?what exactly is this yom?

    They made a copy AND measured them. I paid my fees and then they gave me my tags for the YOM plates for the 34.

    If you have an old registration that proves the plates were ever on the car you don't need to apply to the YOM program. Just apply to register those plates to the car once again. Should be a quick and simple process.

    They definitely inspected mine and I'm pretty sure they made a Xerox copy...
