I was dealing with GMAC on a daily basis when Cerberus took 51% control of GMAC. GM had 49%. It changed the lives of some people I know. It was on my mind at the time I chose my User Name. Plus if my Rottweiler had three heads he would make a great looking Cerberus.

My first and middle name is William Patrick.
In Vietnam at 7th AF headquarters, I entered the next day's flight missions with ordnance data, etc, taken from short-timer pilots. In the course of conversation while entering their data they told me they used willy-pete' rockets ( white phosphorus) for marking targets.
William Patrick became Willy P and somehow became my nickname during my tour, and it has just stuck all these years.
My avatar is my 57 being delivered December 2011 to my son's house the day I got the title cleared.

mine is from a older style of tattoo machine (as i'm a tattooer), not many people use them anymore, and the really sad part is, a lot of tattooers don't even know what they are. but i love the older machines, my favorite one was built in the early 20s and was silver soldered together (not welded) and has remained unchanged since it was made, and i use it every day.

  12. My name is just a nickname a buddy gave to me one night after a few beers. Im not really too ugly, and I'm not a mean drunk, so I have no idea why he called me that haha. But I'm cool with it.

You should send me a picture of that machine! I'm jealous..oldest one I got is a rebuilt 70s spaulding and rogers supreme

That's wicked-cool. Maybe if I ever get out to AR I'll try to get ya to do some new ink on me the way it used to be done... the right way. I've always wanted a front corner shot of a chopped 49' Merc with scroll work above that says "Yo ho, yo ho..." and below "A pirate's life for me".

They send ALL y'all witness protection guys out to Kansas, I hear, LOL. There wouldn't be anyone living there if they didn't! I'll say this much for Kansas... I was able to get a good solid two hours of sleep in behind the wheel of a moving car while passing through Kansas on my way out to the west coast circa '94. When I woke up I hadn't hit anything, and though I was no longer on the road, it was just as smooth and flat. (Kidding! Actually, exaggerating a bit anyway. I did fall asleep at the wheel, but only for a minute. Never left the road, I think it was I80? Or was it I70...)

Mine means that my name of choice (Hot Rod Todd) was gone, and I had an A40 pickup that I thought might turn into a gasser.

Well it is, but only after I sold it

I discovered in 1989 that people were still racing the style of drag cars I remembered from the last drag races I had gone to in 1970. While going through the Pomona swap meet, I saw a booth for the NDRA (Nostalgia Drag Racing Association). They were promoting the March Meet at Famoso Raceway north of Bakersfield. I couldn't believe it, racing like it used to be! F.E.D.s, Gassers, Altereds, WoW! So I took the drive up there. What I discovered was a race track in ruins. You had to search for a bleachers plank, that would hold your weight without collapsing, and there was a lot of em' missing. The asphalt was crumbling everywhere. You had to watch where you stepped, either to keep from falling into a hole and twisting your ankle, or tripping over a chunk sitting there.
So with that memory, I took Rocky Famoso as my I.D. when I joined up onto the H.A.M.B.

Just want to thank everyone who has contributed so far. I think (in some cases anyway) that the ID you choose to be known as says a lot about you offline... what you dig, what makes you tick, what you're good at, what you suck at, and so on. I joined this board to meet like-minded individuals with different areas of expertise, in hopes that if we all put our heads together we might be able to build some really cool shit together. When you step away from the gears, the builds, and the time slips for a minute and say "Hey, how's it goin'? My name's so-and-so, but you can call me (insert) because..." it gives us all a chance to meet the human entity on the other side of the screen, not just the pool of knowledge you throw up on the screen when it's called for. I was really hoping that this thread didn't get immediately closed when I started it, but here we are... a hundred and seventy-something posts later and still going, and it seems like everyone's enjoying it.

Except Kirk. But I forgive ya, man. I'm a bit of a smart-ass myself, and I'll fuck with ya back one day real soon when you least expect it. ;) (Kidding. Or AM I? lol) Its been nice meeting you all, I've read every post (and gotten quite a few good laughs along the way), and I look forward to reading every one hereafter. Have a good night, see you all tomorrow!

My hometown was named after a bull. "Bulltown" became the town's nickname.
