In the swap meet section behind the main building, on the gound there was a dual carb Flahead intake for sale. The tag said Fenton, but the intake itself has "D&S" on the top. Anyone know more about these intakes or who owned the one at the show? Thanks, -Dean
Here's some worthless information. I know the guy from Swap Meets, he's always selling vintage magazines... He told me the "D S" was a custom logo and that Fenton would do that for a customer. I have seen these intakes on ebay for around $225.00 $250.00 I had heard that "D & S" was a seperate "tooling Company" but again, I don't know how accurate this is... it did look like a Fenton... I thought about pick it up just to add to the hoard... but I just bought a Sharpe two pot, and really didn't need it...
I thought that I read somewhere that D&S was a speed shop somewhere and had Fenton cast their name into the intake. Nothing really special preformance wise. I think that guy is from PA. If it is the same guy that I'm thinking about he was at the Father's Day Truck show @ Mangungie, PA. I'm sure he'll be at both Mangunge shows in August. You're right in stating that Fenton would cast other names into the center "nameplate" section. You can't ever have enough intakes! Now get enough carbs. for each & you're in business.
Forgot to mention, he had that D&S intake there as well. At $250.00, it isn't going anywhere fast. IMHO, save some coin & pick up a Fenton for about $100 less.
