----------------------------------------------------------------------- I love the old taillights that WERE on Pat's 54. Paul gave me the old bezals and I cut off the backup light section off, rechromed them then put them on my 53 Mercury.Great friend, thanks again
Hey, The things I've always liked 'bout Bragg's builds are that they always land well within the shadow of ''traditional'', never in the vegas floorshow school of builds ala Zocchi/D'agostino! If ya study the lines & flow of Bragg's builds ,ya see that every mod serves to aid in the overall design, not poke ya in the eyes- that's not a look ya get by following trends off the intercourse or from some dumb "kulture'' magazine! Too, the metalwork is the real deal, no squirtgun welds, putty & hi-build, here! I just wish he'd finish writing his book ! " Meanwhyle, back aboard The Tainted Pork "
it's been a year now, does anyone have any updated pictures of pat's '54? love all of paul's builds and would love to see this one finished. rikster, i know your friends with paul maybe you could ask?
I'm speechless ! Supper bad ass work !! PAUL BRAGG is one if not the best "KUSTOM CAR" builder ! IMO !!
Paul Bragg is by far one of the greatest body men around, all his work is medal work. Not only is Paul a great body man but a very cool person to be around. I worked at Paul's shop in San Luis Obispo, Ca for awhile and got to see his work up close. I'm very glad to call Paul a good friend. The best education you can get is to walk around a show with Paul. CRUISER
You lucky sonuvagun! I'm glad they went to a good home! So, as a youngster, I'd like to know... does Paul still have a spot available for apprenticeship? I'd love to work for him.

Thanks for the thread RIK..... Paul I can't believe it's been a year since the GNRS. I was so glad Augie introduced us. I'm proud to have met you and witness your induction into the Hall of Fame. Although we're about the same age you've been my hero for many years. Thanks for sharing your skills, talent and inspiration to this humble bunch of inthusiasts.BUCKD
Its been a while since we heard from Paul Bragg and seen an update on his projects. Well today I got some new photos of the 1954 Mercury that Paul is building for his lovely wife Pat. We have seen the Mercury before, and the amount of subtile body work on it is just staggering. Paul has finally finished his new paint booth and he fine tuned the body work on the Mercury so it was time for getting some primer on the project. He will have it in primer at the Santa Maria show, and hopes to pull it apart after the show to finish painting it and do all the rest of the work the car still needs. Here are some of the photos Paul shared with the Custom Car Photo Archive Ready to go into the paint booth to have the main body in primer. Some metal details before they disappear below the primer and paint. Inside the new booth. Look at the detail on the trunk lid and the flush fit skirts.
The front end looks good all in one color. My favorite photo... with all the stainless and chrome added... WOW!!! Again... look at that trunk lid! Looks like Paul took it out for a test drive...
Thanks Rik for posting these pics ! I can never get enough when it comes to seeing pauls work...any progress on the 41?
Rikster, absolutlee GREAT COVERAGE on someone who definitly deserves alot of ATTA' BOYS ............Truly Remarkable Craftsman !!! thanks again for your steedfast, deligent, work. Smokey II ( of course, I LOVE Mercs ! )
Sorry... no news on his 1941 Ford Coupe project. I sure hope that one will be next in line for the new paint booth.
Very nice work!! love that 54 Mercury, can't ait to see what colour it turns out...the sectioned shoebox is awesome too!! Rik ,is the coupe with the Olds grille on your link yours? very cool car
I wish!... but no the car in the link and on my avatar is Marcia Campbell's 1942 Ford built by Barris in 1950. However the car is still alive today, and being restored. So if there is still a chance that one day it could be mine.
