Thanks for the pics, I took some, but yours are way better. Man, I need to get out more, and stop being so anti-social. There were a ton of HAMBer's there, and I didn't know one single person.

Man, what an amazing life you live. You have 'Rock Star" access to all these cool events and grew up in the hot bed of hot rodding. Thanks for sharing all the great photos with us. You are a true contributer to this site and one of the reasons many of us log on here every day. Tom.

Doug these are the best pictures yet! You bring the lakebed alive to those who may never get to go.
And thanks for the great shots of car 701. Ryan is my oldest son, working on getting into the dirty 2 club like his little "bro". Your work is awsome.

Here are a couple of shots I took late Saturday afternoon after we quit racing. Most know we run on dirt but the pictures are usually taken at the starting line, like the first picture. The next three shots give you a bit better idea about what we really race on! The race course starts breaking up after the dozen or so passes. The men and women who work to set records on this dry lakebed REALLY WANT IT! because there is only your name in a book and a small trophy (nice looking though) and just maybe a bit of respect from your peers for your efforts.........
They earn there stripes running on "the dirt". Take the time and look at the pictures of the drivers as they're strapped into their cars. They can bearly move, and after starters Jim, Dean or Nathan (Beef Stew) pull your belts tight you can barely breath........... It aint easy boys.

Doug, some how some way you and I have manage to never meet but we're always in the same spot and I'm usually in at least a few of your pics. I do the Rookie Orientation for the SCTA and I also work as a starter and judging by some of the pics it looks like you're standing right behind me. Tap me on the shoulder and say hi sometime.

Beef Stew getting ready to send 939 down course.

Beef Stew and Sir Lance pretending they're mirrors of each other LOL.

  18. Mazooma....thanks for your great pictures.I always look forward to seeing em.I had a blast on sat. weather was nice and as soon as I got there the #911 roadster ran 240mph!!! I thought it was a great opening day. Thanks again for your great pictures.

Seeing the beautiful unibody truck screaming across that lakebed was incredible,I love that truck.

  19. Doug...I think i'll do my own thread. Unless you just want me to put mine on here with yours....Think I took about 300-400 pic's. Haven't even looked at them yet.

  20. Your truck rules,I really really like it.I loved seeing it on the salt last year as well but yesterday was great on the dirt.

Great as always Doug. Didn't make Sat. but was there today with Kevin. Seen Bad Bob leaving just as I got onto the dirt at the end of the pavement. Spend a good while talking with Jay Fishbeck. Jay said you was the Man Doug when it comes to photo's.

  25. Once again Doug, you really capture the feel of El Mirage. I really like the close ups. Thanks for taking the time to post your pictures.

Great shots Mazooma! Thanks for the coverage!
Saturday was a great day. McMasters truck looked and sounded good.

I put some miles on the "Beverage Trassport Vehicle"! And getting to hang out with Mr Winfield was cool!
