Cool Hood Ornaments

Damn Ford guy's. using those 1929-30 Chevrolet "Viking" mascots. Oh well, Ford guy's have been using lots of Chevy parts to build their hot rods, for years.

 

It's fake but I had to post this one!

 

Great,now I will buying hood ornaments for my enjoyment after seeing some of these beauties.
Some have to be super expensive.

 

This is the "Death Proof Duck" originally on the Mack truck from "Convoy" then on the Nova in "Deathproof" Voted by some as "Best hood ornament ever"

 

always liked the pontiacs. something about the indian face... idk

 

Some one else told me the same information recently, next time I see the movies I will watch closely.

 

DeSoto, Packard, Indian (ok it's a horn not a rad cap)

This is on my car. I have not identified it. Anyone have a thought ?

 

What you have there is a 1937 DeSoto lady. Doubles as a hood latch.

 

I have most of a '28? Pontiac hood ornament at the house, but no pic, sorry. makes for an interesting paper weight

 

Saw a car in L.A. back in the 70's that had this bolted to the front of his hood!

Does this count?

 

Someone on the HAMB cast this about 15 years ago.

 

That would be "The Rubber Duck". Truck drivers have been sporting them since Convoy. If you looked at big trucks, you saw them around long and before Death Proof revived it.

Not to be picky, but that is a 1952 Chrysler ornament that you have there.

Here's a few of mine plus a couple I made:The first pic is three Avon bottle caps that are reproductions of a 35 Pontiac cap.The Olds was made into a hood ornament racer.The wooden brush was originally on my car and was replaced by the Lexan one that lights up.
