Event Coverage May 2012 Eagle Field drag photos!!!

After one hell of a day, I managed to get a few good shots! As always, Rocky, it was great to be there, and of course, an honor to wear the "staff" shirt and get an honest sunburn once again. Here are some photos I managed to get of the HAMB friendly cars. I have a bunch more, but most are OT door slammers. If you see a photo of your car, let me know! I don't know everybody out there, and would like to put a HAMB handle to a car (or person)

Were there any comments from the dragster drivers or anyone who had relatively high h.p. ratings about the track "conditions"?

P.S. Where are the reports from Rocky and Carl and the photo reports?

I didn't get the chance to speak to any of the high HP drivers, but I'm sure they were well aware of the conditions, or lack thereof before they took a run.

Rocky is still out at Eagle field as they had other events going on today. I had things to do at home today so I couldn't stay the whole weekend. It's likely Carl is still out there too. Hopefully tomorrow they will see and comment on these photos.

 

its not a track. its an air strip. no prep, no VHT, no water burnouts. just a sun beaten strip of asphalt in the middle of nowhere. in the driver's meeting on saturday, rocky said 'it has as much traction as a parking lot'

Traction ? We don't need no 'stinkeen traction ! Stormy and Randy were even wetting down the slicks --after--the burn outs and crowd pleasing dryhops . The well endowed back up girls were doing Linda Vaughn and Jungle Pam proud , great fun for this 'Ol Coot. Long day , sore **** but well worth it.!!Would I do it again ?? Does a bear poop in the woods ?? Really well organized, polite and courteous staff and well announced.Thanks to all, Spence AKA snaptwo

 

Thank you Spence, glad you had a fantastic time. I think this is easily the best hot rod event I have ever attended, much less had the opportunity to be a part of. My hat is off to Rocky for all he does to ***emble the crew and make this thing go off without a hitch. It wouldn't be possible without him, our "Staff" army, the racers, or the attendees. Great behavior from all involved across the board.

Once again a great time, Thanks Rocky for a fun event and a great place to race. I got to meet a whole bunch of great folks/Hambers.

 

We all had a blast this weekend. I agree, best event I have been to in a while. A ton of people on Saturday, but still very low key. Best 3 days. We brought up that 56 Chevy that Jimmy White's A coupe made to look like it was standing still.

hell yeah! i've been getting pics from the 3 club members that were able to make it down there all week (willy's/henry j/32 3 window in the pics here) and i've been so jealous and pissed i couldn't make it! next year i'm planning my work vacation around this. looks like it was a blast!

Glad to see these bump to the top again. Thanks everyone for the appreciation. Glad I actually thought to bring the camera this year. Usually I hang out at the start line and don't do anything but drool. I figured, heck, why not drool and shoot photos?!
