Watch the video again and look closely, behind the headrests the Squba gear built in. Same company, "Rinspeed" has other really cool amphibious prototypes. The Amphi-Baker has more personality than any of them!
Some guys on the HAMB are "un-marinizing" Mercruiser 140s and 470s for use in land hotrods. Maybe they should be making those rods more seaworthy and leave the engines alone!
That is, plain and simple, AWESOME. Looks like it will be A LOT of fun when it's done, and the expressions on the faces of onlookers from the beach will be priceless. And just think... If you ran stacks off the carbs straight out the hood, when you shut her down they could double as rod holders!
stopped for a beer and ended up helping keith set the top on her, fer sher needs a blow-up donald duck behind the wheel. walt disney written all over it. way cool.
Took it out for a test Swim on sun, all is good! Picked it up from Metalrodica tonight. Gary Buckley air brushed the grill on. looks great!
ANY car will float in a pond... at least for a minute. That "SM@@KIN 7 Knots" that yours moves in a forward motion at is what sets Finzilla apart from the rest. And if I'm not mistaken, 7 knots is right around 10 mph. It took me three months to get my '53 to travel at 10 mph ON LAND. I'm totally diggin' it. Throw a fish finder in the dash, and I'll grab some bait!
That little car is very cool. You seem to have a demented sense of humor. The restyling is great! It is cool that you don't treat it like a boathouse queen. You probably put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces when you take it out. I remember when I was a kid one of those cars used to come by our house once in a while. I seem to remember the props slowly turning as it drove down the road. Thanks for sharing with us! ~Alden
I love this car. I wonder if you could use air ride to pull the wheels up and out of the way? Might gain a bit of speed on the water.
