home from a great trip and a fantastic show. The weather was STUNNING and the park was good and dry this year, no swamp in the center like last year. That meant parking in the shade and better layout than having all the cars around the edge. The only bummer of the day was the HORRIFIC traffic on the freeways that held some up for over 2 hours and caused more than a few to turn back and head for home. Thanks to the Kruzin Nutz who worked hard to make sure everyone got in and out smoothly. Thanks to Guy Z who lead us all on a nice backroad cruise on Friday up to the Rousch Collection... and thanks to all the came out and had a good time. Looks like we can do a burn-out contest next year and we'll have a few more surprises for ya. as for the cars? Wow, the quality of rides just keeps getting better and better at Billetproof Michigan. Its great to see the cars at the show, then come home and find several of them featured in recent magazines. Here are some pics and video...
GREAT story with this truck... Last year a father and son came up to me late in the show, said they had tried to get their Model A truck to the show, but lost a babbit bearing on the way to the show, had to get it towed home, but came out the show later as spectators anyway... well, they spent the rest of the year working on the truck, got it sorted out. The son hand made a down draft intake for the Banger in High School shop cl*** (this part touched a note with me cuz my dad ChopPop did the same thing when he was in high school prior to WWII)... and they made it out to the show this year, no problems. A well deserved "Best Truck" trophy was theirs.
Hey Choptop, Thanks for the kind words on our truck! My son and I had a great time at the show ... but... the story continues ... on the way home the 80 year old water pump cracked sending the fan into the radiator and one blade thru the hood! We ended up riding home in a flat bed tow truck. This will definitely be an unforgettable billetproof!
