I think that is the same motor that won the first hard surface, 500 mile nascar race.

How much is he asking? What kind of shape is the body in and the interior? I've had mine for 4 months now and haven't had a problem with the motor or trans. Went to pick it up and bought a new 6 volt battery and a can of starter fluid and DROVE it onto the trailer(it did have gas in the tank thou) just had to get it to the carb then it sat there and purred. Fluid drive shifts just like any other manual trans. The only thing thats different is that Supposedly you can let off the clutch while in gear and not stall it out (sitting at a light with it in gear and on the brake) I have stalled mine trying it out once or twice so I don't try it anymore. But I will say this I don't have to really get on the gas as I'm letting of the clutch I usually can let the clutch go and then drive away, rather than be giving it gas as I release the clutch. Also if it is all original, It is a positive GROUND not negative ground. To get better cranking amps some people have been known to use an 8 volt battery with no issues.
The shift pattern is as follows...
Pull toward you and up (Reverse)
Pull Toward you and down (First Gear)
Away from you and up (Second Gear)
Away from you and down (Third Gear)
Once you shift into R or 1st gear and release the lever so you can steer, the spring will pull it back toward the dash(thats normal) it isn't coming out of gear. Some people will laugh when they read this but, I didn't know that and thought that. PM me with any other questions you have and I'll try to help you out!;)

I've got the same motor/tranny combo in my '48 Dodge coupe. I've had it since 1998 and haven't had any problems. As Jayne Cobb mentioned, you can take your foot off the clutch at idol without stalling and just drive it away by stepping on the gas, mine works fine in all 3 gears but it is slow, there's a reason the fluid drive is known as the "slush box." The motor is bullet proof and used in many industrial applications to this day. There's more info than you'd ever imagine on www.p15-d24.com, and a great group of VERY knowledgeable folks.

Kool deal on you 50 Dodge!! I am lucky enough to have two 46-48 DeSoto's with same drivetrain..spitfire six w/fluid drive trans. To be truthful i wish they both had a true three speed ... the fluid drive is a slushbox for sure but once you get the hang of it you can get around town. The fluid drive trans is really a 4-speed trans...reverse pull back and up..1st and 2nd you do not need to pull back or forth just up.lettien go of gas pedal between gears .and 3rd and 4th just down.. of course letting go of gas pedal between 3rd and 4th as well ,its very slow and hard to hear tranny click into next gear when loud trucks or motorcycles are next to you. I have found a little faster way of getting it to shift with out waiting for the tranny to shift. Start out like a normal manual trans put it in low(move shifter up) 1st gear like normal and when you are ready to shift to 2nd press in clutch take it out of gear neutral postion ,put it back into low and you will have 2nd gear same system works in highgear (Move shifter down) 3rd to 4th.

Also i had to fill torque converter with fluid for the first time last month luckly i own a few mopar manuals kinda tricky there is a access panel in on the floor of your car you will have to pull and fill plug is on torque converter itself but you will have to rotate converter to the top to see it. Old timers told me 10w oil (not Gear lube....OIL) is what they used to fill it , i did too and have had no problems.

The fluid drive in the dodge is different then that in the desoto. In the dodge it is a normal 3 speed, with a fluid coupling in front of the clutch, and does not shift on its own
