i have a rebuilt 12v chevy generator charging good. my question is the grease ports to the bearings look dry, should i grease them with bearing grease or do you use something else?
i have only seen oil cups which i put a couple drops of oil in. can you post pictures of the grease ports?
The common maintenance procedure was to use a few drops from a dipstick when you changed your oil. When you checked the level after a fresh oil change. Use the stick to add a few drops. It doesn't take much. Over oiling can cause a bigger problem than forgetting to oil. If you are lucky enough to have an early distributor, with the oil cups, then the same procedure applies.
