Well since Lucky Strike started the thread, I'll come along for the ride. Since I just started my '57 project I would like to see some good ones as well.

While we are all here.....what is the best and cheapest way to drop your rear end? Someone suggested I flip the axle ontop of the springs, but wouldnt the axel contact the frame when I hit a bump??

  18. Yeah, get it for $2200.00 and then sell it to me.

yeah, but who cars how it rides if it looks cool?

you can C notch the frame to clear and get a little bit of travel out of it.

I hear ya, but I would rather it ride good, and look cool. Guess I'll have to plan to spend some more dough on a better rear end set up.

You can drop it a few inches by removing some leaves out of each side which would be very cheap (free :) ). I took out 3 leaves per side on mine but wasn't able to haul much and ended up putting 1 leaf back in. That wasn't low enough and gave the truck some rake but I was able to haul light loads.
I believe there are some mono leaf setups available that would drop it further and still give a decent ride.
