Well, my 1930 Ford AV8 Roadster is on the road. Other than some tidying up to do with the wiring and misc interior stuff, it's on the road and a blast to drive. It's got a 276 59AB, a '39 trans with a 25 tooth LZ gear set and a Winters/Spadaro Quick Change. Old original parts were refurbished used as much as possible. I have a lot of blood, sweat and tears wrapped up in this Little Red Roadster, and over the past few years have searched the HAMB and Ford Barn for parts and tech info, so here is the result. Hope you enjoy it, I sure am. Chad
Look's like it's got all the right parts in all the right places. A real "kick ass" AV8... Good job!!!
Love to see a nicely built car that is painted for a change. Great styling, a nice example of the classic A on 32 rails V8 roadster.
Hey Fella's, Thanks for all the kind words. Mike, I am indeed running a 32. I found an original roadster last fall that I couldn't pass up. It's my dream car and sadly, that means I have to sell this one. I never thought I'd be able to have a real 1932 Ford Roadster, so this little red roadster was as close as I could get. I have to admit that it came out very very close to how I pictured it in my head when I started. Having such a personal relationship with this car will make it extremely hard to part with. I appreciate the comments about simplicity. I am not into making any one thing stand out or seem garish. A skull shift knob doesn't belong on this car. The windshield is 2" taller than you are conditioned to seeing these days on a similar hot rod but the original DeLuxe height frame and stanchions lend the car a very late 40's or very early 50's look in my opinion. I feel like it has the look of a nice early street car from that era, not a lakes job or anything extreme. The upside to that is that the glass keeps the June bugs off my face and I don't have to tuck my knees up under my chin to drive it. Thanks again. Chad
