What a silly thing to say. They carry Hughes (one of the most respected names in drag race automatics), B&M, ATI and Performance Automatic - all high end, well regarded brands, along with the more price conscious ones that people buy and then ***** about
Yeah, fair enough reply. But when a manufacturer sits down to work out a deal with them, they want ALL the margin and then later come back for even more. To be fair, all resellers do the same thing. It makes it hard to maintain a fair margin for anybody.
I got a TCI Ford AOD that has lasted about 8 years sitting on the floor of my garage. Shifted at 3800 rpm wot. I could get no sensible or satisfactory answer or adjustment from TCI. You get one chance to bend me over. Same sorry product from GER Transmissions. Probably out of service by now, did not last too long. George E Reynolds was the owner and really talked down to me. Trans was shipped to me as a dyno tested C-4. Trans was locked up and had a cracked bell housing, had never been run. Told this by an employee who was more honest than the owner.
I'll probably get busted by the SPAM police for this. But seriously, call the guys at Gearstar. They don't have a big ad budget but their **** works like it is supposed to, their shop is spotless, their techs are hot rodders and they will give you the kind of personal attention we all deserve for our hard earned money. Less than .01% warranty claims for over ten years. Ask around, check their website. You will not regret it.
