    I have pick up a 1950 Ford F8 the moter that is in it is not the original. on the head driver side there is a stamp with Lincoln 8E-B. What would this motor have come out of. The truck was running a few years ago needs a carb. any info Thanks

    I believe that is the original 331 Lincoln that it came equipped with.

    The late 40s, early 50s Ford F7 and F8 used the Lincoln 337 cu. in. flathead. I had one years ago. They were a big truck in those days. Ran good, but had heating problems. Save it. Not many left.

    I done a bit of research on your F8. The Lincoln heads were marked 8EL and the engine was rated at 152 HP while the F8 heads were marked 8EQ, and had 145 HP. As for the carb, as I remember, it was a rear draft, possibly the same as 49 and 50 Olds. Check with Google. There is a boatload of info there. Good Luck
