Hey guys i bought a 1970 truck chevrolet camper special from Maine. He said he had a ***le and once i purchased the vehicle he informed me he was wrong and he does not have a current registration nor a ***le. The truck needs to be shipped overseas so i must have a ***le. Can anyone lead me in the right direction please or give me some help.

    Thanks Jeff

    from Maine

Maine would not have issued a ***le that far back, and still doesn't issue ***les for "old" ( I forget how far back they go), but a VALID registration signed by the owner is legal proof. Tell the guy you need a signed registration... Tom...

Jeff, you know better than that, always make sure the paperwork is right before buying anything. The only way to do it here is to have a old registration . Can you get him to apply for a lost registration or maybe check with the Maine D.M.V and locate the previous owner.

Brad you are right I do know better. Sadly i didnt make the deal on the truck my client did but i am shipping it for him so i am stuck. How does he go about applying for a lost registration. He said it was registered last in 2007. I am not sure if he has the old registration or not.

    THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS!

Just have him register now in 2012 should not be a problem being it never required a ***le. He will have to produce a bill of sale for do***entation of ownership. check with the Maine D.O.T The new owner (client) may have to sell back to the seller first.

If it was last registered in 2007 he should be able to get a copy from the D.M.V. Has the seller ever had it in his name, doesn't sound like it ?
