I found these on the curb free for the taking and a Eldon Drag strip with the 1/24 Slot cars ! The Pie Crust slicks are white walls re-caps 7.5X15 in good condition , vintage rollers for my Willys Coupe !

Very cool! I've snagged a few old vintage metal coolers,a pedal car, and one of those big plastic coolers on 4 wheels you see at big events! I added a diamond plate hinged top to keep the cool in!

Scored big time! Will you take $20.00 and a 12 pack of Falstaff beer for the dragsters?

  20. Two weeks ago I bagged two 245/50/16s, new, never mounted. Funny because that's what the O/T car takes and somehow the rears are gettting a little bald. Free stuff is great. Free stuff you can use is AWSOME.

Hey it might be a good idea to stop back at that house and go up and knock on the door and inquire about any further car orienated items they may have that they have not got around to throwing out. They may have other stuff that could bought like an old car or something, you never know. Nice save.

I once found a Schwinn Admiral in someone's trash. Well, a friend found it and called me. As I pulled up to the house, I had to do a U-turn to get to the bike. A van was coming from the other way so I had to wait. As they drove past, they stopped and I thought "Oh ****". Well, they took off and I grabbed the bike. I took it home, aired up the tires, and jumped on. Everything worked fine. I sold it on eBay for $399. Score!

Had the same thought. Drag slicks are not a common item found in a garage or shed clean out. Maybe there's some more vintage speed parts to be bought before they hold a garage sale to sell them. Better yet, an old Hot Rod in mothballs.

Best thing I ever found on the curb was a complete Fuel Injection setup off of a 65 Vette being thrown out.

Oh, wait a minute, that was a daydream..........nevermind.

I saw something sitting next to a guys garbage cans out by the curb one time and it looked like some car parts, so I stopped. Turns out it was a complete set of backing plates, drums, bearings, shoes, etc from a 40 Ford. They were even painted black and in mint condition. I guess he was converting over to discs and put these out by the curb.

Our mailman was a funny dude, you would see his mail truck stopped at every garage sale along his route. He told me one day that he almost got fired last week because he saw a nice recliner sitting out by the curb so he threw it into the mail truck and took it home. Turns out the lady had just cleaned it and put it outside to dry so she called the post office and reported she saw him grab her chair. I guess it is against federal regulations to put anything but mail in a mail truck. :D

I popped the garbage picked pie-crust recaps off the crusty rims & the whitewalls cleaned up OK ! Now I need to mount them & put them on the Willys

The slot cars are probably worth a mint, whatta score.

I see nothin' good lately on trash nite. I did pick up a spare working motor for my pool filter a couple of years back and a bucket of chlorine tabs.

Back in the day, I did furnish almost a complete bachelor pad with things found by the curb.
