My 63 Galaxie with 223 in-line 6 has devoloped a problem and it's driving me crazy trying to figure it out...Was out cruising this morning and she just lost power (like it was out of gas). It starts right up but then cuts right off again. pulled the top of the carb and the bowl is full of gas, and it has a gl*** in line filter that is full, but i can't see any stream of fuel when i pull the accelerator and look down into the carb. pulled the top again and made sure the main jet was clear (it was) but same problem.

Any help would be appreciated. There is a local car show tomorrow and the grand-daughter really wants to take the old girl.

Sounds like an ignition problem. although if the accelerator pump isn't working, you probably should fix that.

Just as a follow-up: Found it to be the fusible(?) wire leading from the ignition switch to the firewall. It had a break in it and wasn't sending juice to the coil. Just when you think things are easy to figure out something comes flying in from right field! Back on the road!!! :D
