I just finished reading the article in Street Rodder about Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop. And I am in LOVE with the Sedan they are doing! Of course the 575 Coupe is one of my all time favorites as well.... The entire look and feel is exactlly what I call a Hot Rod. These cats have it nailed! I want these guys to build my next ride! Now where did I put that lotto ticket?
do i see windshield whipers and disc brakes???? yah thats what i think the definition of "hot rod" is ( rolling my eyes )
I don't think thats disc brakes, I think thats a cooling vent on the backing plate. Anybody know for sure? I like this shot:
Isnt it Doane? The guys at R-Bones have cool website, are great vision for what they do, and a good at***ude when you talk to them at runs. Great Americans I say. Looking forward to thier salt flat higinks.
My wife and I had the opportunity to meet them at a service area on the M***. Pike on the way to the Road Agents Show. This guy Ken walked over looked at the A and invited us to go with them to meet several of thier friends before showing up on Friday nite. At the time we had no Idea who they were (yes I live a sheltered life) but what the hell we were up for a little adventure. They are great folks, no ********, just intertesting people that love Hot Rods and beer drinking. The hospitality they and their friends showed toward us was amazing and we felt at home immediately. The cars they build are not only perfect in stance but go like hell, and are driven hard. We had a blast and I would do it again in a minute. So if you run across these guys make sure you say hi and have a beer or three you won't be disapointed.
I've posted this pic before, but I can't go one day without looking at it for inspiration. Tom Fritz really knows how to capture a moment in time that tugs at your gut. And Doane Spencer and the Rolling Bones crew know how to build RIGHTEOUS hotrods! I'm dying to drive it.
kieth cornell is an old buddy of mine.. got to ride shotgun in his car fri night doin 2 and 3 gear holeshots in the parking lot of the wellesley at road agents show. what a hot **** and craftsmen i lost the link to there website anyone else have it?
The Doane Spencer roadster is my all time favortie Hot Rod. I don't understand what kind of a ***** could think its not a Hot Rod? WTF? Its ***s like you that ruin everything... Those are lincoln brakes *******.
This post is very confusing... That definately is the Spenser roadster WITH fenders. He had it that way for a little while first. And NOBODY could be stupid enough to doubt the Hot Rodness of the Spenser roadster... Could they? Tell me that was a lame joke con sarcasm... http://www.so-calspeedshop.com/projectcars/myer/doanespencer.html
HAHAHAHHAHAH I can still remember the first time i ever saw a pic of that roadster. Its just one of those things that will never lose its influence on me. Later Marc
Here is a picture of the sedan I took at road agents, i'm kind of sorry i didn't take any more, its cool that they fit a hemi under a stock ford hood with just a teeeeeny notch in one of the louvers

thanks man!! what were you driving? i like the way it looks too, but not enough. im stripping it again this winter and repaiting it shiney black.. after riding in kieths coupe i almost hate my car!! i need to biuld another hotrod..dave
have to add my 2 cents since I spent most of the weekend hanging out with them/their crew, Billy O and Sketch. Thanks to Billy O, who introduced me to these guys, I still can't believe I get to hangout that crew . I'm the youngin being 25, but I feel like an equal when they include me. The sedan is Dennis Varnis-one hell of a nice guy as well. I rode from a party to the show Friday night in Keith's coupe, and while we were in Hershey for Goodguys- and I too can vouch that that car pulls hard, and goes sideways just as well as it goes straight..haha Good times...good people, can't ask for more.
