Haven't had my '55 on the road in 5 months. Gotta get the coil springs in tomorrow and get her on the ground!

Knee deep in grinding dust this weekend. Been relocating my springs inboard, prepping a rearend (cutting all the brackets off) and cutting out the inner fenders to clear the new tires and wheels on my 51 (see my thread for more info if interested).

Both sons and I worked on the Studebaker. Oldest worked on the patterns for the floor boards, the youngest made a steering arm for the cross steer and i cut panels and welded. Awesome day. Many times I thought about a young man who didn't make it home who loved wrenching, and I was truly grateful for his sacrifice.

Installed old Edy fuel block and jetted up the outer carbs yesterday... also made a pair of slimline mufflers to install today as the car is causing hearing loss at a staggering rate... gonna wire up some turn signals and fab a pedal/steering column plate to keep the hot Y-block wind out of my face too.

Installed new rear leaf springs and front coil springs on my 50 Merc. Raining down here this weekend with the Tropical Storm, so it was time well spent.

Also finished painting the underside with Red Oxide primer.
