Family and I got home from spending the afternoon at Mom and Dads house for our Memorial day weekend. My Dad got this car a couple of weeks ago and today was the first time that I saw it live and in person. This was one of those once in a lifetime opportunities. Right place, right time, right people, and $$$ in the bank from not buying the "wrong" car the last few years. My Dad is now the 4th owner of this 5 window. This car came to WA state in the late 1990 from Nebraska and was purchased from the original owner. My Dad got a bunch of paperwork when he bought it and one piece was a ***le from 1946 that states the previous owner was the Ford Motor company. Car was supposedly repainted about 40 years ago. The odometer shows the car has just over 31K miles! I am not a restoration expert on this era of car, but I believe that to be true. Not too much out of place from what I can tell. The exhaust is new and a few parts here and there, but for the most part this thing is a time capsule. Mechanical brakes, early 21 stud motor, 6 volt, Stromberg 97, original wiring, awesome accessory fender skirts, etc. It does have about 3 more miles on it now though, I could not resist! (Note: I have not and will not drive the C6 Z06, I know what would happen) Pictures will tell the story. My dad will also be checking in and posting additional information. Enjoy!
You must be ****'s and Molly's kid. I know your parents from the **X. Your mom and dad are the greatest folks. I was present at the **X when they debut it the other day. What a wonderful car, a true "once in a lifetime find". That 32 is not a bad car either. One Crusty One- GARY ESTES-ISSAQUAH
Good grief, it's just a car. And they were built to be driven. Run the wheels off the darned thing, or sell it to someone who will actually enjoy it, as you certainly aren't just looking at it and wiping the dust off.
Very nice, it's ready to be used and driven. My dad always used to say if you don't drive and use them your just saving it for someone else. Nice find.
Thanks for all of the replies! The small uploaded pictures don't really do the car justice. This car will definitely be driven. As Gary mentioned he has already taken it to a local cruise in (**X Drive in, Issaquah, WA) within a week of getting it. Basically its maiden voyage. My dad will be a great cartaker of this vehicle. He didn't buy it to look at, but isn't going to put an SBC in there either. Note: The Z06 is dads daily driver, and we live in the Pacific Northwest. I don't drive it because I would HAVE TO HAVE ONE, and that would be really bad on many levels. I did drive the '36 yesterday
WOW...Very cool for your Dad Brock, looks like a cool car. I can't wait to check it out in person this summer. He might have to bring it out this Saturday on the run...Alan
Brock your dad scored with that find, that is a beautiful car. How do we keep Alan from stealing it and building that Westergard styled Custom he has been wanting..
Yowza; one beautiful survivor! One of the best looking body styles of the '30's........... but then, I'm biased........
Dad has a very good looking car. Be very very nice to your dad! Do you have brothers and sisters? Be even nicer than them!
Brock, Great job posting this. It is much better than I could do.I really enjoy all of the comments. Neat to see our friend Gary pop in there. We are going to keep this baby totally stock, and you can be ***ured that once we can trust it, it will be driven. Thanks again for posting it on the HAMB for me. Dad
Thanks for making that clearer. It sounded like you owned the Corvette Z06 and never drove it. Some people are like that and I can't imagine owning something and not wanting to put miles on the odometer. Enjoy the 36 it's one fine car.
The car is beautiful and your Dad deserves to do what ever he wants with the car. Drive it, look at it. It is his to enjoy and just ignore the jealousy. I admit to just a bit of jealousy myself.
