Here are some pics of my '46. Got a lot planned for her. Gonna chop it 1 1/2 to 2 inches, S-10 Chassis, 283 small block with a tunnel ram, TH400, new oak bed. Long ways to go 'til done but we started taking it apart and cataloging parts and getting a list together of what's needed so far. Found a '42 parts truck I need to go look at so hopefully it won't be too bad to get stuff for it. Many more pics to follow.
That is gonna be a bad ass truck when it's done! Sounds like your off to a good start. Keep us posted on this project.
Original has a couple quality fish plates in the rear so it is solid but I want the improved ride as I plan on driving it as much as possible. Also, I had an S-10 work truck that the motor went south in so it's handy vs. buying an IFS kit. I have big plans for it but I have to TRY to be somewhat cost effective. The original will be put up for sale along with the 235 that is in the truck. Any money made from the parts will go directly back into the truck.
Got the major frame surgery done today. Shortened it 8" and trimmed the middle to fit the cab. Just a little trimming to complete and ready to start mocking up the body and engine. Split the frame at the factory seams and shortened it. Cut the widest sections out of the center of the frame and boxed them in. Still have to add to the passenger side but that will happen after I get the engine mocked in and get a game plan with the exhaust.
