I just bought a 1965 Honda S600 that used to house a 350 Chevy V8 and it came with this diff. Any ideas? Thanks.

  2. A Honda S600 with a SBC? Now that would be something to see!

    Maybe early Corvette? Worth anything?

Kinda looks like an early 8" ford.

here is the car its self

The builder had fit a Chevrolet V8 engine with triple carbs and a this rear axle when in high school back in 1977 or so. It looks like there wasn’t even room for a radiator so he didn’t fit one. I guess you could get away with that if you only used it on short trips. It would have been a bit of a death trap though as he tossed in this seat and a milk crate without bolting them down in anyway and it had the holes in the floor! No gas tank just a jerry can. Check out the craftsmanship on the hood blister

  7. What a shame for a rare little car. What are your plans for it?

Oh and the rear end looks like stock 57 Chevy to me.

I was wrong...that's surely a Chevy rear end, 55 or newer.

That certainly looks like it. So probably from a '57 Chevy something or other then.

Not sure on the exact plans for the Honda yet. Might involve sitting a slightly better fitting axle and a four cylinder or perhaps even V6 engine up front. Too far gone to go back to stock so some sort of custom. Needs floors but the body is pretty solid.

Suitable for drag racing, if you don't go too fast.

And the track doesn't have a minimum wheelbase rule.

  11. looks similar to a 8- 3/4" mopar rear....or a tri 5 chevy.

It's not an 8". That much I can tell you for sure. Not a 9" either just in case anyone wants to suggest that.

It is a 55-64 chevy rear, probably 55-57 since I don't see the remains of the upper control arm mounting bracket that the later ones used.
