...15x8, unilug, originally chrome, 30-spoke, marked 1985 on inside of rim...Cragar?...Weld?...think they may have been called, "Star Wire"?
yes i think its a starwire was popular on the 350-450 Mercedes around here in late 70s early 80s a**** the Boby Ewing wanabees
Not tru spokes. There were a bunch of aftermarket spoke wheels in the early 80s. You may notice that the spoke portion is an insert. The wires are non-adjustable. I never cared for these because it was obvious to me that they were not real wire wheels. Tru spokes were real wire wheels and these needed truing to prove it.
So, by that definition, Fords from 1928 thru 1935 did not have "real wire wheels" ?? I respectfully disagree that wire wheels have to have 'adjustable' spokes to be considered 'real'. It is simply a different method of attaching the the spokes to the wheel rims. It's one thing to not like a particular style or method, but another to disregard the facts. Ray
That is not what I meant at all. I was talking about aftermarket hotrod wheels of that era. It's only my opinion on reproduction wheels made to resemble wire wheels. I do have 35 wires but if given a choice I'd go for the Kelsey Hayes wires that I have on my roadster.
