I.D. This Wheel?

    ...15x8, unilug, originally chrome, 30-spoke, marked 1985 on inside of rim...Cragar?...Weld?...think they may have been called, "Star Wire"?

    yes i think its a starwire was popular
    on the 350-450 Mercedes around here
    in late 70s early 80s
    a**** the Boby Ewing wanabees

    Not tru spokes. There were a bunch of aftermarket spoke wheels in the early 80s. You may notice that the spoke portion is an insert. The wires are non-adjustable. I never cared for these because it was obvious to me that they were not real wire wheels. Tru spokes were real wire wheels and these needed truing to prove it.:D

    So, by that definition, Fords from 1928 thru 1935 did not have "real wire wheels" ??

    I respectfully disagree that wire wheels have to have 'adjustable' spokes to be considered 'real'. It is simply a different method of attaching the the spokes to the wheel rims. It's one thing to not like a particular style or method, but another to disregard the facts.

    That is not what I meant at all. I was talking about aftermarket hotrod wheels of that era. It's only my opinion on reproduction wheels made to resemble wire wheels. I do have 35 wires but if given a choice I'd go for the Kelsey Hayes wires that I have on my roadster.
