I had mixed feeling upon hearing this idea.

I have a G-body monte' 87 aero-coupe sitting next to my 55 right now, And i just wasn't seeing it.

BUT from the pictures it looks like it worked out pretty well. I'd rather have you driving your 55 around on a differn't ch***is then rotting away.
Hell...Its no better than guys doing morrison/ brand **x frame swaps.
I like my tri-fives to ride like tri-fives, however i understand if its just not in the cards for that car (be it money or whatever).

    I aint mad atcha'

    Good job, keep it up.
Im ***uming your still fixing the rust issues on the body right? not just stopping at a frame swap?

either way, Sometimes you just gotta prove everyone wrong...Right?

    Cool man.
"The only reason I got the car is I have always wanted one and got this one for almost nothing. At least I'm trying to repair the car and not s**** it"
You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself

A neighbor with a small bodyshop built a 1950 Chevy on an 80's El Camino and chopped the Chevy top. He dropped it low over the frame. Came out nice with lots of work. Not much money but a lot of work.
Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do. Everyone can't order new stuff from a catalog.
On the other hand there are many 55-57 Chevy rolling frames here in central Florida with parts bodies that could be bought cheap.

You say it was a parts car with no frame, but in the pics it's sitting on a 57 frame and there's another tri-five frame behind it???

Your malibu is desirable. Sell it to fund the 55

True , the 57 frame is a west coast frame rotted in the front ,and the 55 frame is a east coast frame rotted in rear. I planned on repairing one of them.

If you were closer I'd make you a sweet deal a junker 55 parts car for the frame. I bought it for the front clip.
