I got one for a small block but it lists as 79-95 w/manual trans. I'm trying to mate a TKO600 to my early 70s Cleveland block. I've got the trans and bell-housing, but this plate is giving me problems. This is from Ford Racing # M-7007-B. The bolt holes all line up but the issue is the raised area at the bottom. It hits the back of the oil pan before it sits flat on the mount surface. I tried looking up specific apps for the Cleveland but no luck. What to do? Smash it down? Search for a vintage plate? Different oil pan? Anyone got a part number(s) for what I need? Thanks in advance.
I have a Lakewood SBF/Tremec scattershield/blockplate I bought @ a swapmeet several years back, it's supposed to be for Foxbody w/tremec?? Anyways, I just went out to the shed, moved the lawnmower, mtn bike, some 5 gallon pails and a ten gallon aquarium so I could get to the scattershield.....and the blockplate that comes with it IS FLAT So, you might want to check & see if it is available seperately?? If not, I think I would just get out my transfer punches & hole saws & start with a fresh piece of plate..... .......unless you have a friend who does CAD, in which case I would get him to do a drawing, which you could then give to your local laser/waterjet/plasma cutting jobshop to have them cut one for you...... PS: mid nineties ford trucks with SBF/5 spd use a starter that is a buch smaller in diameter than the ones from the 60's/70's, this is what we used on my 351C after having header/starter clearance issues..... EDIT: Just had a look on Summit, it's available.... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LAK-15726/?rtype=10 HTH James
Oops. Forgot to say thanks. I haven't gotten back to that issue at this time, but the info will be useful. Thanks!
