Looks like the redneck nationals dirt track show...
Cool stuff until one goes over!

  7. All that legendary German Engineering excellence and they can't bank a dirt track?

I used to go to dirt track races at Spangdahlem AB. VW Beetles with the transaxle turned around (don't ask..I don't know how) to provide mid-engine setup. Loads of fun.

Adj... Bank it which way ??? As slow as they were going they would flip over on a banked track ......

  9. Lack of banking is probably why the were going slow....well that and lack of traction.

You put the carrier in with the ring gear on the other side of the pinion.
If you don't turn the motor around at that time you will have 1 forward and 4 reverse gears. (Don't ask me how I know.)

That video was taken at the M***en Dirt Track Race near Berlin this weekend.

I´m the guy wearing the metalflake blue helmet at 1 min 40 sec. and was riding shotgun in the p***enger seat in that 30 Model A that my friend Tom flipped. No one was seriously hurt, my shoulder is a bit sore, Tom is fine since he fell on me when his jalopy fell over.I bet that was the reason he let my ride with him in the first place, hahahaha

He is a tinbender by trade, so the trusty model A will be back on the track in no time, we actually made a second run. Luckily the Body is still straight, no pillars bent. I must have pushed the door open with my shoulder and bent the hell out of the p*** side door window frame ... that ´s the worts damage on the car.

The weekend was one hell of fun , it was very small event and most of the good people there were friends or buddies known personally, we certainly had enough party.

Most of the folks there were afraid to damage their cars in the race so there were only 17 cars and a couple of bikes that acutally raced but it was fun non the less.

    I´ll post some more pics!

That was awesome I wish I would have known about that! How do you get info on these events?? I will be at Bottrop next weekend another good time. Wish I would have put the 28 in a container and shipped it over.
