    G'day guys

Love the forum, love the info and the community behind it all. Im 22 and own a few cars, but looking to buy American for my next project.

    I have a few questions,

I am looking to buy a 59'-62' Chev wagon in any condition, $9,000 is my budget...i will customise it over here in Aus.

    1. Have any Australian's purchased a vehicle from the USA and brought it home?

    2. What freight company did you use? Hidden costs etc?

    I am based in Sydney.

    Thanks
    Matt

Not really sure of who in Sydney! But NEVER use CALIFORNIAN IMAGE IN BRISBANE!!! She is a pathelogical liar and he has no clue as to whats going on! I bought several cars and bikes in thu them and got screwed big time, things missing, everything opened, damaged goods, slow delivery, and every thing, I mean everything was overpriced and had GST on things that didnt even have to have it by LAW, THEN THEY EVEN TRIED STORAGE FEE,S be warned!!! I now use Baltons here in Melbourne and they are fantastic, nothings too much trouble and Glen is most helpfull

    Hi Matt, welcome!

My falcon was already here when I got it but I still had to register it. If you're getting 1960 or later (I think the cut off is?) You'll have to install seat belts, so annoying >_< You probably already know this but just a heads up for the hidden cost if you didn't already know.

Thanks guys, i have been getting alot closer to buying a car in the US and it seems there is some success stories out there, which is giving me confidence.

Also Des Russell and his 50' ford is one well known example here on the Hamb, that buying o/s is a pretty good option.

  13. be aware that you poor ******s across the ditch have some pretty queer laws regarding importing a vehicle that has been MODIFIED . Just a heads up .
