There are a few places, Marty on here is in westlinn nw speed (I think thats the name, I'm major tired, then there is brent in Washougal washington Madd Mac's creatations (he was just in old skool), then there westcotts in damascis? and Steves Auto Restorations in Gresham ( hes a dick but has way cool shit). As for events Good Guys is in Puyallup Washington 7-15-05 thru 7-17-05 (about 2 1/2 hrs from portland). The Concours Delegance is in Forest Grove Or. 7-17-05. The nation Edsel convention is August 2nd - 6th in Tualatin Or. Other then those stop by a Baxters Auto parts store and pickup a free Drive magazine and check out the listings in it. Hope you enjoy it here.
Theres a few things going on that I know of during the next couple weeks. If you're into looking at garage queens, the Forest Grove Concourse d'Elegance is on the 17th. Or you can go to the Danielson's Cruise in at Oregon City, put on by the Mt. Hood Ford and Mustang Club www.mhmf.com . There's also the Mopar Nationals going on at the Woodburn Drag Strip the same day. There's also 3 cruises that I know of happening on the 23rd. You didn't say if you're here for business, or pleasure. Lots of great destinations within 40 miles of Portland if you feel like looking at the sights.
Calendar of Events : http://www.northwestclassicautomall.com/events.ihtml Just missed Good Guys, Seattle area, but the next two-three weeks things are picking up around these parts. Welcome to the Pacific Northwest. ..H Other points of interest, Evergreen Aviation Museum, Home of the Spruce Goose. A great place, a short 20 min. ride away. http://www.sprucegoose.org/index.html
Definitely check out NW speed in lake oswego. If you find yourself in the St. Johns area, thres a fully restored Signal gas station thats cool to check out. The Concours in Forest Grove is a waste of time, unless you like to walk around and poke fun at the wine and cheese crowd....that show is not geared toward car guys, its mainly tailored toward dentists and accountants who bought fully restored Dusenbergs and such....
Thanks, Did that yesterday...WOW! wll worth the time. Proceded with trip up the coast to Cannon beach. Found tons of old sheet metal lying in the weeds. Took pictures of 53' ? chevy wagon in some dudes back yard, along interstate 99/18, on way to Evergreen. Nobody home, looks like it has been there forever. How much to get it back to Florida? Portland International Raceway on Wednesday nights they been getting about a thousand cars. The Black 50 Chev PU and a 32 Yellow high boy should be there. For high end cars go to Steve's Restoration in SE Portland. NHRA NW national is in Seattle this weekend.
