If Mike can't drive, what was he doing driving the Pickup when they had the "rat rod build off?"????? All I've ever heard is that he pays as little as possible. I think he's (Boyd) is pissed that all of the guys that leave open up their own business's and make it on their own. The classic "you'll go nowhere without me!" line gone ary.

    Duane tells JOKES??? :D

FYI...I worked at a shop EXACTLY like Boyd's...only it was a used car dealership's service department! But, the owner paid us peanuts, knew us all personally, treated us like crap, and had a fit if we showed up for work with "FOR SALE" signs in our own personal cars...cuz he didn't like 'competition'!

And the best part??? I was the official 'Duane' in that shop!!! :D

I guess I'd just feel right at home with ol' Boyd!!!

I think Boyd is delusional. He should start drinking again.
I can't believe he talked Al into coming back! How long will that last? Maybe 2 months over/under?

Boyd should not have make the bad reference about Circle City but he did not mention its name (only that its the shop BlueBear when to work for, those in the know, know that Jimmy is not putting out shit).

As for Mike, Well I do not know if he had a contract that said he could not do freelance work but it can be a grey area (pending on how he was handling the side jobs). How many people have gone off on their own (to work for others or started their own business, in the same field, before quiting their job). Mike should have said he was doing it for the extra money (maybe it may have saved his job and got him more money)......... There are not alot Rim manufactures out there, so all are going to be competitors to Boyds......... Mike had to known that he could lose his job if caught. Go to work for almost any company and do work for someone else, it will get you fired.........

Whose next to leave........ what are the Odds in vegas........ roy may drop dead before the show is over.

It was weird...I walked around wearing a baseball cap, carrying a clipboard and telling the guys to get back to work! I had it made, but got bored with being a Ruler and left to work for Disco Motors building reliable rat rods...an oxymoron on wheels you couldn't sell for two cents in today's world!

...But Chip promised to hire me in as a fashion model to carry his Bought-And-Paid-For RIDDLER AWARD around for him while explaining to the World that his tripple fucking ugly "36" is NOT a Coast-To-Coast rip-off.

    Hope he pays me well!!!

I'm i the only person who thinks that Boyd can't think for himself. He has that short fuck Duane ( who should have his ass beat on a daily bases) calling all of the shots. Who in there right mind whould trust someone like him to run a large operation like Coddingting shop. It seems that all of the employees there hate the place which is why they are jumping ship and testing management.

Mike should see a an attorney about that accident. He should own that shop after an accident like that, in one of Boyd cars, with his son at the wheel.

All of the crap coming out of that shop just plane sucks, i'm not saying that the crew does not have talent, it is the designs that suck. There is no soul in the cars that leave that shop.

Just my two cents. But better question is why i have wasted a few hours over the last year watching that show now and then.

what was Boyd Like say 20 or 30 years ago as a hotrod builder?

I might be biased or something but todays Boyd don't know what a "hotrod" is if he calls mustangs and cars of that nature Hotrods:eek:

He said something about Bluebear going to work for the guys that bolt that *bleep* junk together.

I didn't hear him say outright that Circle City Hot Rods or Jimmy White put out junk, and I think only people that know cars know that Bluebear works there, nevertheless, he shouldn't have said it.

Did anyone see the RIDES episode the other night? Charlie was painting Foose's Riddler car and Foose was holding a Boyd cut out in the window? Thought Charlie would have a stroke he was laughing so hard.

I've got way too many things to do every day and way to little time to work on my car to worry about Boyd or watch his show. They never show how to actuallty do things anyway from what I've heard. Boyd builds megabucks show cars for people, not hotrods, and those cars are really built by someone else-it's their skills I admire. Did Boyd ever actually build a car himself? Just asking.

I used to be a vendor for boyds motorcycle junk, so I would get industry news about him as well as the complete bankruptsy info, that guy fucked hundreds of people out of there money investing in his shop, his spending habits would bankrupt and he'd start a new company, he's done it many times, he's hated in alot of money circles. never forget your only as good as your employees.

Scott Barron, hater of alot of things in the industry, especialy of payola that exists in the publishing world(fuck you dave nichols) and whoever else does it

  16. Boyd probably designed Mikes jaw instead of the doctors Boyd found a used ebay one for cheap and adapted it to fit Mike it was 5 times as much work but it was cheap labor and it was in the Coddington tradition

I'd work at Boyd's shop if he would hire me. Maybe I'd spend my career there, maybe it would be a stepping stone to a different job. Either way, it would be a learning experience.

If I remember correctly Boyd said "Maby you should be over with Bluebear and them guys putting that shit together"

it might have been "Maby you should be over with Bluebear and them guys putting out that shit"

I think it was the first one but it really wouldn't make much difference would it. And he never did say Circle City

Mike is actually working for MHT wheels.
This is pure speculation but I doubt that Mike was stealing Boyds designs and giving them to Chip. I would assume he is digitizing Chips designs for the wheel company. Chip= Designer Mike= Programer

Not that its a big deal or nothing, but I wasnt aware that Jesse and Jimmy worked for Boyds shop. What happened there? Also what really happened between Boyd and Foose? I know Chip designed/worked there, but what happened to split tides?? Just to contribute to the post debate: I think Boyd is an asshole, but I also agree with Fat Hack about him giving young guys a chance. It seems there are a lot of younger guys working on high dollar stuff. Thats not my kind of car, but as a 21 yr old myself its cool to see someone give the younger generation a shot at something like that. The experience is probably great if you could tolerate Boyd. Just my opinions though.....

Yes, Boyd has built many a car himself. He used to do it in a backyard shop after hours at his job at Disneyland. He is very talented and created many trend setting cars in the high buck street rod circles.

I'd sure like to swap places with that crazy black guy on the show. He gets to work along side Roy every day and learn sheetmetal fabrication. The experience would be priceless.

Great, now if I have Circle City build my exhaust flanges for my Olds, I'll have to worry about Bluebear getting into arguments and taking longer with the job. Damn you, Boyd Coddington!! Damn you!

Personally, I think that Boyd is a fucking ass-clown.But I can also admire that he used to build cars.He does bring in the younger kids and teaches them how to( or not to) build cars, and they move on to better their building careers.
He must not be too stupid though, he keeps us all talking about him!

Roy is the only master craftsman in that shop. What is his story, where did he work, what has he built before being sentenced to work for Coddington.

I haven't watch Boyd's show for a while. Isn't Al the guy that has a small furry animal living on his chin? I wasn't aware that he left. He seemed like the best builder in that shop. Management material? I think that he rather be left alone to do the building.

As for Boyd. It's TV for the masses. Ain't any different than when I was a tot looking at car mags. Boyd and Lil' John fueled my interest in Hot Rods. Boyd's still doing it today to a different generation using a different type of media.

You may not like reading Harry Potter but how many kids are now into reading books that otherwise wouldn't be?

you have a point but he still makes us car guys look like a bunch of have it my way fuckin whining ass babies, hes so fucking stuck on himself they ought to name a glue after him, i wouldnt piss on him if he was on fire, the pole smokin bastard!!

  30. I haven't seen the show, but doesn't anybody think that the director of the show was giggling inside when he asked Boyd if any of his employees had a contract, much less a non-compete clause? "Make sure you get a closeup on Boyd when the next one quits".

The decision to do the show was Boyd's, he must have watched the OCC show and seen what kind of clowns the editors made them look like.

Sorry Hack, but Boyd's going to have to live down this TV show.
