So what process do you use on surface rust the old stand by of sand blasting is a mess here at the shop spend as much time cleaning up as blasting and in 100 deg temp really wheres you out, sanding with DA and then treating is a mess to and either way I always worry I will miss some small spot that will show up 5 years down the line here before and after the fenders were sanded and treated the deck lid is sandblasted any know of any other good options
Got this off a metal shapers site. This was done to a 40 Willys coupe which was like new when completed.
i have been wondering what the best way to remove smaller patches of surface rust w/out hurting the orig lac paint. i want to keep my orig paint on my 53 but want to rid some smaller patches of rust and prime those areas. i know it may not be the popular thing to do, but i don't want to git rid of the orig paint i have, even for a totally new paint job, but i don't like the rust.
both sound good will try them and see how it goes I have also bought so commercially avaible from (tp tools) will see how thy work
What do you guys do for areas that can't easily be ground or sanded? Such as the inside of a unibody torque box or rocker panels? Would you just blast it and clean up the mess as needed?
