Yesterday we took delivery of a 1941 Plymouth P-12 from one of customers. The owners had the car painted many years ago and want to finally get it on the road. We had previously tracked down most of the missing trim through Owen's Salvage. All of the chrome was sent out for replating, and new seals and gaskets purchased. Now comes the fun part, trying to figure out where each piece of trim belongs. We will also be installing a new exhaust and completely re-wiring the entire car. I started yesterday on the right side grill trim. Each piece needs straightened, sanded and polished. I will post pics as we make progress. The car owners employees had written Little Christine in the the dust on the side windows
Thanks for the compliment! A little progress from today, each piece of trim is taking 1-2 hrs to straighten, sand and polish. Replated hood ornament
Probably nothing major. Mostly gonna just get it back in good working order and drive the heck out of it this summer!
I had a '41 Special Deluxe coupe ( which had jump seats in the back ) - my 1st car - the red is too bright on the grill, and the sails were not painted on the hood piece. The name is painted on the hub caps if you haven't done them yet. Also some red on the marker lights and truck lid pieces. The red color is a little more dark than that. Real nice car.
