ok, i know i ask alot of questions and here's another. on my 67 galaxie, 289 and c4, i installed a lokar kickdown cable kit. how do i adjust it? ive gotten a few conflicting suggestions, tried them all and no difference. my ****** shifts to drive smooth but still doesnt downshift when i step on it. i am running a freshly rebuilt holley 600.

at full throttle the cable should pull the lever fully.

Make sure you have all the slack out of the cable when you adjust it , I had the same problem with mine so I rechecked it and found the slack and now seems to work fine . Oh yeah and adjust it a little more than Lokar calls for it helps. Good luck.

  5. I adjusted until there is very little slack when disengaged, and just played with the tension until I had quick kick down response. It is a simple, five minute task.

There has to be NO slack what so ever. I have the polar kickdown on my c6 behind my 302 and it has to be tight as **** at full throttle.

It is pretty staright forward as everyone above states. A 5 minute job.
If you over adjust it , it will downshift early (before full throttle). If it does that just get out of the car, loosen the allen head screw and back it off a little (maybe 1/8th inch) at a time until it shifts correctly
