302 in 1967 Mustang keeps quitting

HELP! 302 engine in my 1967 Mustang keeps quitting after taking it out for a run. Have to wait 40 minutes for it to cool down before it will start again. It shuts off also if it idles for too long. If this happens at a stop sign I will be SOL. Please help! Thank You!
