I've had two...sold the first one, a T bucket, I still miss thirteen years later. Now, got a 36 ford pickup, I built when flat black was unusual, its definitely "my" truck, when its parked, there's no mistaking who it belongs to, I walk down the street toward it and get asked about it before I even get there. I love the thing, I'll die owning it. See me at www.trolls.quack.net
I'm a tall 5'7'' and my all-too-roomy-Model T jalopy is built just for me. I think it fits me just fine.
I can relate to this thread, when I first decided to build a hotrod I was unemployed and someone mentioned to me I should build a t-bucket well so I thought maybe I should build one in a traditional style. I started it and got a few bits and pieces but just never fully truly got into it. Im not one to compromise and im not one to do something I don't like just for the sake of doing it so I completely changed plans and direction and now I am at least working towards building a car that I truly actually want. Thats one thing I have learnt as a newbie, don't fall into the trap of building or buying a car just to have a hotrod. You really have to like and be into it.
when ya leave a car event, with the keys to the car ya like the best,, ya got the right car for you......
Ive had this car for 12 years and it is my daily driver in Key West. Fits both my size and personality.
Does your car fit you? Well it never when I got it. But I have lowered it 6" and chopped it 5" so it fits much better now.
My Galaxie I've had since '87 fits me to the bone. I always get something else, but the Galaxie is the thing. I have an OT sportscar that I sunk a load of money and time into, and just can't really get a good feeling for it. I wanted that OT car for over two decades, took 14 years just to finally get mine on the road, and, well, there's always the Galaxie... Nothing better than rolling around on a summer night in my Galaxie with all windows down and the 390 burbling though glasspacks.
they are OT but my 85 Fiero gt fits me like a glove. its getting harder for me to drag my old fat ass in and out, but every time i effortlessly blast through a twisty back road i remember why I bought it back in 88. I've put over 100thousand MI. on my DD 89 dodge van so the seat fits my butt like it was made for it. my wife once had a mitsubishi eclipse that was the most uncomfortable car I had ever ridden in or driven. finaly got to the point where I wouldn't drive or ride in it at all. I grinned ear to ear the day the new owner drove away from my house with that POS!
I guess they must; I've had the newest acquisition for about thirty years. Drive one or the other almost every day.
