hey guys I have a question--can anybody tell me if a stock turbo 350 torque converter for a 1 ton truck has a higher stall than one for a p***enger car or maybe one from a late 70s vette will have more stall .I need to know the rpm numbers for each conv if possibe ---------thanks
I would seriously doubt the truck would, if anything it might be lower. We used to run Vega convertors as they were smaller and had more stall than the bigger V8 ones, but they also failed a lot due to not being built to handle the additional torque. Don
a truck converter has a lower stall than a car,a vega converter stalls at around 2500 on a small block.i've run a vega converter behind a mild blown small block with no problems.stock converters from a car most likely stalls below 1800rpm
G'day, I've never seen a 1 ton gm truck with a turbo 350 from the factory. Every one I've owned or worked on had turbo 400's, sm465 manuals, or 4l80e's. The heavier 1 tons came with a 6 bolt torque converter with a lower stall speed. A torque converter from an l82 corvette 73-79 should have a slightly higher stall speed.
