Projects More Falcon Mock up

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tinbender, Jun 8, 2012.

  1. I think I have the ride height and stance I like. I'd been thinking about bringing the top up an inch or two, but now I'm not so sure. (she's getting a new roof )
I know better but I'm going to ask any way  What do you guys think about the proportions as it sits?

Ride hieght looks good but the roof definately needs to be reworked.

  3. That pretty FUGLY! :p

Why bother with a roof at all!

  5. Seriously, maybe adding the 2 inches you're mentioning will look better or go for that Monkee Mobile look and make a convertible out of it.

  6. The motor???

  7. It's in the back.........an inch or two of height wouldn't hurt the space management issue.

  8.

    Got any pics?

The proportions seem off. Maybe some better pics would help.

proportions are off. raise the roof some, or maybe move the front wheels forward and raise the *** (vintage funny car look) .

but I think it is overchopped for the size.

  14. Started planing the car in 1975. You could call it a pipe dream ;) I bought it & cut the top in 1984. Due to many factors, some good some not so much. I drug it out of storage and let a few of my students work on it. They removed the floor and unibody rails. Then we tacked up the ch***is. We mostly do modern collision, but fabrication teaches them to think ahead. Both my taste and my skill level have changed since 84 so I've been thinking about raising the roof anyway. Either way it's getting another top. My gl*** guy wants me to take the lean out of the posts.
I know it's a little OT, but I respect a few of the opions around here, and I've been looking at the car too much:rolleyes: Here's some more pics. It's just a mock up so don't kick me in the nuts too hard:D

  16. W.T.F.!!!

Are you building it to be a wheelstander?

That's usually the reason for rear engine.

    What engine is that?

IMHO, I think the rear tires are what's off. A little larger tire in the back would give it enough rake to look bad***. Maybe someone can photoshop it in so the lowest of the three body lines is level with the ground. I love it.

I think the back needs higher or the back of the roof higher then think the front roof would be fine as it is. More wedge shaped and larger/taller rear tires as mentioned.

  20. Thanks for the input guys. I usually have a pretty good idea of what looks right too me. This one's been hard. I'm trying to push it right to the edge of "too far", without crossing the "cartoon car line" Larger tires in the rear are a must. I still have to narrow the rear end (8.8) All the old floor and rail structure is going away, and we set the new rails at 28" wide, so there will be room for lots of tire. I like the idea of more rake, but I like the wheel wells covering some of the wheel.

The motor a 4.6 police interceptor. Not anything HAMB appropriate by a long way, but low mile, the price was right, and I'm ready to delve into turbocharging this car, so the EFI will be better for my learning curve. It is also physically huge so it fills the back! The body will lift like a funny car hinged in the front. That will be the only time the motor will be visible. So thanks for not trashing me for going OT :D I value your opinions greatly!........ Well most of you :D

Just a quick and dirty photochop, but a bigger rear tire and more rake sure seems to help. A picture more of a straight side shot and bigger would be easier to work with[IMG]
