I have a '32 Ford Highboy with windshield chopped two inches and want to put on a set of wind wings.

I prefer not to have to drill holes in the stanchions.

I would appreciate any advice and/or pictures of some that are installed.

    Thanks.

Check out Ebay, under wind wings, Lucky brand about 65.00, clear, prebent and mount using the windshield studs. Bought a set a few months ago , 2 inch chop, work well and because they are clear they dont stand out and detract. You do have to drill for any mirrors mounted on your stanchions Car's not here so I cant send photo.

I made a batch of these a few years ago and still have a few sets left. I have both 2 inch and 3 inch chop. They fasten on with the wingnuts and you would need to drill a hole for a mirror. $40 per set.

What do they measure from the bend of the straight piece that fastens to stanchions to the outside edge

    Thanks.

    Thjanks for the quick response.

Does 4" do the job? I would think they should be 5" or more.

Can you send me a pic of them mounted on the car?

    Paul

    Hi jmikee,

Its getting cold here in Maine and I want windwings! Do you have any still for sale for a 2" chop? Regarding the hole drilling for the mirror, is this just to allow the shaft to thread to the stanchion?

    Thanks,
    Glenn

I am a caveman and crude. I made my windwings from some scrap plexi and some stainless sheet metal. I just cut some strips and drilled holes. The strips go under the wingnuts and also bolt to the plexi. They are pretty big but work great. They keep the thrown tire water from hitting me in the face on left turns. I can adjust them easily by bending the strips..
A friend made me lazer cut fancy strips and beautiful plexi but I have not got around to installing them yet.
    Lazy plus crude!
