Well, I've got severe back and knee problems and the trans went in my A. One phone call to a friend and he shows up with a couple people and a cooler of beer!! They did all the heavy work while I made gaskets and handed them wrenches!! Just got back from a good blast.......it's been a while and it felt good!! God bless those guys!!

I'm usually the one to get called, I fix cars for a living. I enjoy helping people out especially cc members, family, and friends. I'll be there at the drop of a hat, most of them know I'll work for highlife and a good home cooked meal!

I enjoy helping people out, it makes it rewarding in itself. I guess it was how I was raised. I have some good stories of on the side of the road repair.

If kharma does exist,we have to wonder when it'll come back around and settle on us sometimes?
That act of kindness no doubt made your friends feel good about themselves too?

You can't beat the hotrod community when it comes to havin' someone's back! I'm sure those guys will need some welding done, or one of my other specialty skills in the future and I will be more than happy to help them with their needs!

I started asking a few guys over to the shop on Friday nights. The original thought was to give back something to the younger guys and help them out with their projects. It's turned into what we now call tech night and we seem to get a lot accomplished collectively. Of course we usually do a couple of chicken in the smoker, or grill burgers. And I wonder how many would show if the beer ran dry? LOL

I find my self really looking forward to Friday nights and I know the group does as well. There are times when we have 6 guys here wrenching. other times its one or two. Put the effort in to your friends an the friendship just grows. But to be honest you also have to look for those guys that have like interests and same values as yourself. Those guys are the true friends.

That kind of thing shows you who your real friends are.

Lots of these young guns these days live in condos and apartments with no place to work on their rides. I have guys that are here that live on the local navy or marine bases. All great guys and deserve the same opportunities I had growing up here in So Cal. Giving them a place to wrench once a week or so is the least I can do. Besides it keeps you thinking young being around the younger group. Im just honored they want to be around an old broken down fart like myself.... Bad back and all. :D It really busts me up... mentally Im still in my mid 20's physically 56!
It's all between the ears guys. Enjoy
