34 chev Master and 57 Corvette

    A friend lost his repair plates so now needs to know where the vin#'s are supposed to be on the two cars..?
     
  2. Vette tag is on the steering column and the frame is stamped in 2 or 3 locations

    57 Corvette VIN is stamped on the top of the frame, directly under the drivers seat. Virtually impossible to read with the body on the frame. VIN is also on an aluminum tag that is screwed on in the drivers side door jam. Tag on steering column started on '58 I believe.

    MotorCityDeuce is correct. We used to have to cut the floor between the seat track and door opening to show CT. DMV the VIN.

    The tag on a 34 Master is nailed to the wooden passenger side floorboard, just in front of the front seat and a few inches in from the rocker. Most of the time it disappeared when the wood rotted away.

    The tag was moved to the column in 1960, right around VIN #1500.
