Look for a tag or numbers stamped next to the roll cage. That would be the builders SEMA number. If you can find that, it will be easy to id. I'm not familiar with the date that builders started to stamp them. I started in 76 and they had been doing it for sometime before then.
This dragster belonged to the Strokers Car Club, in Malden,MA. It was the ex Powers & Riley's AA/FD from Iowa. I know there are some ch***is differences from your car, but the nose piece and front axle except for the radius rods are identicle to your car. I believe the ch***is was built by R&B (that is John ****era) in Wisconson. Given the geographical location Iowa, Illinoise and Wisconson...I think you may have a match.
Here's the best look you'll ever see of a Don Long fueler ch***is... http://www.wediditforlove.com/techtalk18.html Long used dual hairpins in the article, instead of the 3 bar on yours; but the rest looks pretty close.
There is nothing on that car or how it was built to indicate its a DLong ch***ie (thats the newest lie used nowadays) Here are some pics of a tagged and do***ented R&B ch***ie
Don't know the builder, but it just doesn't seem like a Don Long car. What's the story on it, did you just acquire it? What are your plans for it? Looks pretty sweet.
