I thought it was a Caddy too when I first saw it. It's actually a 54 Chevy. The pointed hood and bumpers though are from a Cad. My guess is the center portion of the hood (Cad) was grafted to the outer flanges/edges of the Chev hood. The hood flips forward to open btw.

Good point. I've seen the car around for a few years so I didn't take any pics.

If you look inside at the top, you'll see the "Hall" metal nameplate. Hotrodhon probably can verify, but I believe the car is an actual surviving Northern Cal custom built in the late 40's.

It's a real East Bay Custom from the 50's- Current owner lives in Castro Valley area (I met him at Paso), and the original builder lives in Paso now!
Car is almost exactly the same, except the bumpers and grille work, which I think look better than the original version....

It's great to be able to see these pix from the AI. I keep that sticker on my windshield. It's been there 9yrs! The Holiday Bowl was a great venue!
Even though I live in So Cal, I think many of the truly GREAT Shows have been in No-Cal. It was great driving with Jimmy White, although I had to break off in Paso, saw Wees n wife in their Falcon Wagon, Steve (Coupe de Cab), Farmer, Sam Strube, but most of all I got to take my brother Cyclone Bob's and his son Ian's 30 "lakes" styled highboy to this show. There's 3 shots of it in this coverage and I didn't see them until now .

The reason I even saw this tonite is because a friend in Oz sent me a pic of the 34 roadster which I've had for years in the one of the first issues of TR&K?.

A friend of mine and I were talking about this coverage and he brought up the AI. C'mon Guys, put this show back on.
