anyone that has put in a 327/350 did you just use the 327/350 engine mounts? I was told that all i had to do was flip the inline 6 mounts around Wrong answer! and did they mount in same location as the inline 6 were. and did you bolt or weld on to the frame?

  2. There are several companies that make side mounts for 53-54's, I think mine were from Ch***is Engineering and were bolt in but it's been so long ago I may be wrong. I was able to use the stock trans mount with a slight modification as well.

ok thanks for the quick response. ill keep searching for your sugestions.. would it be wise to modify the inline 6 ones and reinforce the welds, if the new motor mounts mount close to the original area?

  5. For the ones on the crossmember, just go to the bone yard and grab a couple.

You can buy side frame to engine mounts or even a front plate style but the best is to build your own. This is not a 350 mount and it is on a mustang II front crossmember, but you get the idea, you can build up mounts off anything.

Sorry best pic I had at work, mock-up the engine in place and trianglate from the inside of the frame and top of the frame to where your enigine mounts are them build them. you can use bushing from a leaf spring to isolate the engine.

little help please, i put in a 327 w/ t5 trans as stated above but i am trying to use after market headers like the camaros had that swooped back to clear the steering nuckle it's just so little room in there and the reason im switching them is because the stock ones sit so high and i want to use a bracket to hold the spark plug wires and of course the header sound :)
