That's a real shame ... hope it's just under a tarp somewhere for you.

What you SHOULD have done was hand him a hundred and gone and got a trailer. It's not yours till its in your garage (but yes, ****ty thing to do of him).

First you told him no,then gave him the I'll be back line, hell hes probably s****ping them because he couldn't sell them straight out. You missed out and can't blame the s****per or him either. Should have got the truck when you had the chance. If everybody selling something had a dollar for all the I"ll be backs they wouldn"t have to sell in the first place. To bad you missed a good deal.

Talk it over with the "car gods",they might give you some sympathy.

As for the rest of us on this board, I hope not.

  7. Steel is 240.00 a ton s****.

Here's a good one- from pull a part today.

Desirable but rough 71 k5 blazer with a full removable top. Towed in with Big shoe polish on the windshield " for sale 1200.00" bet he got under 500.00. I would have given him 6 but not 12. So now its junked & destined to be s****ped because a seller couldn't get real on the prices. No that your uncle is doing that, but I'm sure someone would have bought & saved them for 200.00

Why on earth would you go home and jerk around on the computer instead of getting the money and paying him ?

  12. I too have more faith in my relatives, when tell them to hold something for me they do. Maybe, he forgot, or got the signals crossed. Hindsight being what it is, I would have painted it with a big "Do not s****"

  15. You know I've been thinking,
Heartbroken and dissaponted cuz of s****pers ?

Them s****pers just want and need to eat, and at 200.00 each plus moving them and loading them- won't be a killing but they will do alright. Your uncle will get them moved and gone as this is what he wants plus some extra scratch.

Seems like you didn't do what you needed to do.
Hate to be captain obvious here, but its all you brother.
Slather the blame around if it makes it taste better but at the end of the day its your fault.

A Sweptside... like this? Unusual and has a small following. Easily worth the hundred bucks you could have bought it for. :)

You probably should have worked harder to make sure nothing happened to it. I'm sure the s****pers just came and got it all, that's what they do. Better luck next time.

Sorry to hear. The nice part about N. IN is that most of the s**** yards are owned by car guys. Even if a car makes it to the yard it doesn't get recycled before someone gets a chance at it. My dad made a point to go to the local yard years ago and get to know the owner. They used to call him when something he liked would hit the yard. That was 30 yrs ago and he still gets calls. My dad and I now have an agreement that I get dibs first.

I raised my son up around old cars, he has a buddy that gets calls to s**** cars, he takes everything back to his house before s****ping them, anything old they call me about to come look at. Fortunately his friend is clueless about the older stuff.

There's a lot of ***hats out there who make themselves feel better by s****ping something rather than sell it for a realistic price. I have a brother-in-law that got pissed at a low ball offer on some vintage JD tractors, so he sold them to a scapper for the same price the collector offered him.....JUST TO BE A ****!!! My B-I-L has a few restored ones too, so he isn't oblivious to their value, just felt like being an ***hat about it.

Sorry to hear that, but I learned long ago...when a deal like that happens, camp out on/in it until it is home...PERIOD.
Same at swap meets...if I see something and am thinking about buying it, once I pick it up I never let it out of my hands until a deal is done.....learned that the hard way...set it down for minute to think, and some other bozo picks it up and it is GONE ...
    Cheers...

i just looked at a 58,59 sweptsides this weekend 2 to make 1 and the price was 5K! both desert trucks and that seemed pretty fair considering how rare they are.

So you took the time to post here but haven't taken the time to contact your uncle . Don't you think you should get the facts before you start *****ing about something that may or may not have happened.

  30. And what would the offer be if $600.00 was on the windshield, everbody tries to get it for less.
