We were still working on the Traditional T for the nationals or bust venue.
Got the steering column installed. Finished the wiring, bolted down the cab, Installed the interior and did the plumbing for the brakes. Naw we weren't busy!

Got two more pistons out of my rusty flathead. 4 down 4 to go.

Bought some shelving for the garage so I can get some tools off my workbench and future sandblast cabinet. Cleaned parts of the garage till I got the nerve up to swing the hammer in the vecentity of my left hand again(see first sentence).

Dreamed about a bigger garage so I could put more cars in it, and wish I had a bigger garage to put even more cars in....:)

Heat and humidity was terrible this weekend. I built a cool folding package tray behind the rear seat in my sedan. I put stiffeners under the visor and then cut and fitted it with a piece of sheet metal that I will later have some louvers punched in. A couple hour job that took all day.

  4. Did some work on the non rod (camaro) - aligned the puppy, fastened in the passenger seat, installed the e-brakes, removed several really stuck bolts, and got dumped by my old lady of over 3 years.

FINALLY got all of the new brake lines hooked up for the 54, bench bled my first master cylinder, and bled the entire system. I only had a couple of weepy connections and only one of those required an entire new flare to fix it. The brake system is done besides installing the vacuum line on the booster and adjusting the drums on the rear. I also did some goofy stuff like adjusting the driver's side door latch and got the clutch spring installed. I'm installing the 12V kit this Saturday, changing the oil, and she should be driveable!!!

283- .060 over, mild cam cut down from a local old sprint car cam builder. He said this was the cam everyone used to want him to cut. Powerpack heads, camaro springs, roller tip rockers, double roller timing chain, high volume oil pump, edelbrock intake. hope this helps

Did you use the Comp Cams roller tip rockers? I was wondering if they'd fit under the standard, old-style valve covers?

    Busy weekend for car stuff,
Pulled the 327 out of my roadster for a bunch of needed work:

Cut the frame mounts off so that I can bring the engine forward and down a hair.

Cut down the fan spacer to about 1/2 inch to save every bit of room

Drilled and tapped my 327 crank for a balancer bolt before the balancer jumps off and eats my 32 radiator.

Drilled out a broken bolt that my "help" broke off in the left side motor mount.

Got a new flywheel and clutch pressure plate, so I can put in the 4 speed.

mocked up my bellcrank behind the master cylinder for the mechanical clutch linkage that i'm stubbornly staying with.

Put the back inside quarter panels in my 37 tudor that I just upholstered.
Installed window garnishes, and fought the windows to get thim working smoothly, not quite there though

Put the remote trunk latch in the 37 that i've had on the shelf for 2 years.
Took the 37 out for a drive, and sweated cause I have no A/C in it and it was 96 degrees. Parked it in the house garage to clean out for a new project arriving today.

Cleaned shop for the 41 chevy pickup that arrives today, my first paying customer car build...... So I'll see if its for me or not. Truck is chopped, channeled, sectioned, subframed, and fenders widened, guy has over 20 grand in receipts but cant finish, this guy bought it and wants me to finish it, so we'll see has it goes.

    anyway plenty busy this weekend.

Started the engine for the first time. Been working on this '32 tudor for the last three years, and finally tried the engine last Friday night.

Thought we'd be fiddling all night to get it to fire, but it went as soon as gas made it from the tank to the carbs. Had 60 pounds oil pressure right off the bat!

I really have to compliment the Jere Jobe distributor! And my own Stromberg 97 building abilities must not be too bad either.

how 'bout stuff we un-did this weekend? happened as i was pulling out of home depot, messed up the linkage and slammed the trans into park. not too much fun. i'll probably part out the car ('65 olds 98) since the frame is just too rusted to bother repairing. i've been pushing my luck driving the thing this long as it is.

also picked up a complete pre-38 (not sure of the exact year) ford front axle with wishbone for $50, so i started cleaning that up, and i managed to get in some barbaque and a couple games of asshole. aside from the car, not a bad weekend

MercMan1951: if only you were a couple hundred miles closer:( i need a truck, and i have a good chevy motor sitting here!

I actually have something productive to add! worked on my T-Bird and got it running well. got the power windows to work (Well..2 1/2 out of four anyway) Got my Triumph bike running well enough to take it for a cruise. Basically got everything with a motor going in my garage. Then I cleaned my garage. Not a bad weekend.

  15. Time goes so slow, stood back and looked at the direction I'm going someone asked, that's it? They just don't get it.

A storm went through and I spent the weekend refueling the portable generator and moving extension cords around to keep the freezer, refrige, and sump pump in running order. The repair crew with new power poles went by about 2 hours ago and the power just came back on. Maybe we'll get a good nights sleep for a change. Not a thing accomplished on the hot rods.

Casted some more Shift Knobs for my 39 Buick.
Still don't have the right color though.
    Mica,clear, pearl, metal flake.
Thinking maybe a light grey pearl for the knobs and Wheel.

The Buick saw alot of cruising, Friday, I had a bachelor party to attend, so my father drove the buick around. ( I sold his car earlier in the week) Saturday was my birthday, and I didnt really do a whole hell of alot, besides attend a local cruise night. And Sunday, I sat on my ass, and contemplated what I could be doing creative the whole day, until it became too late to actually do those things.

Wingnutz, man, you did an amazing job on that floor. That's like museum quality. Was it that multi-stage epoxy stuff that levels itself out as it dries? That stuff is indestructable.

Went to Easterville IA for the wifes 30th reunion. Sunday we drove up to Egan MN to visit an aunt of hers. Only car related thing was, I snuck off and got to meet fiddie-four and visit for an hour or so. Good to meet you Traves! Enjoyed the chat and the cold beer.

  27. Whoooohh..., Be easy on your help..., I hope they remain your friends after the work is done...!!!!!!;)

There's a reason why they charge $15K..., We lost a lot of equipment during the etching process such as chemical masks, hoses, squeege's, shoes and chemical gloves!!!! (Cheap Rubber gloves disintigrate just from the fumes!!!!!)

Plus calculating the batch size with the ambeint temperature and humidity so that the damn thing would flow nicely without hardening up on us in the middle of the process.

Theres some new products on the market that are safer and supposedly just as durable as the stuff we used and easier to apply. (Check out "Home Depot" and follow the directions!)! "GOOD LUCK"!!!!!
