most expensive Model B Ford motor

Would have went a lot better if we heard the backstory in the first post.

Maybe the 60K was the purchase price, could be someone wanted to buy the engine for the history and/or maybe help the family out.

Does anybody have a picture of said engine? I missed it before the OP pulled it.

 

Picture any Model B Ford engine with a finned head and Two SU carburetors and you've got it. Not something that impressed anyone, I think the 60 large bought the building and equipment to rebuild the motor. Bob

Who came up with the 60K number?????? Did someone just invent that?

The engine is extremely wild and crazy on the inside and the fastest 4 banger i can expect to drive. It was built by Don Milodon of the oil pump/pan fame.

The real story is Harold Johansen took it apart and checked it and do***ented everything inside of it to match it against the Hot Rod Magazine article and he said it would probably take 20K or more to replicate building an engine like it.

Get your facts straight.

The facts are, there are many people around that could get filthy rich building flathead model B 4 bangers for 20K each and they would make at least 150 hp on the dyno.

 

So, ummmmm, how wild and crazy is it inside? And please remember that the 60K number was presented by the OP in the initial post. The rest of the posts were in reaction to the original.
